The ceremony & reception

Q: What time should I arrive?
A: The ceremony will start promptly at 4pm. We ask that all guests arrive at least 20-30 minutes before the ceremony begins. Seating will be available from 3:30pm onward.

Q: What is the dress code?
A: We'd love for guests to dress in cocktail attire. We kindly ask guests to avoid white and ivory.

Q: Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
A: The ceremony will be held outdoors under a fully covered pavilion. The cocktail hours will be on a patio area with some shade, and the reception will move inside to the barn for dinner and dancing.

Q: What is the address of the ceremony and reception?
A: Our ceremony and reception will both be at Ivy Ridge Wedding and Events, 7511 9th line Thornton, ON, L0L 2N0.

Q: Are children welcome?
A: If you live in Ontario we ask you to not bring your children, but if you are travelling far with your children to come to the wedding, we can accomodate them. Let us know if you plan to bring them along and we will make a plan with the catering company.

Q: Are pets welcome?
A: No, please leave your pets at home or with someone who can take care of them during the event.

Q: Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes

Q: Should I bring money for the bar?
A: Nope, the drinks are on us.

Q: Can I bring my own alcohol?
A: The venue does not allow outside alcohol, but there will be plenty of drink availble.

RSVPs & Guests

Q: When is the RSVP deadline?
A: Please RSVP by May 31, 2026. This helps us finalize seating, catering, and all the details that make the day special.

Q: Can I bring a plus-one?
A: Your invitation will indicate who we've invited. Please don't bring un-invited guests. If there's someone you'd like to bring, let us know and we'll see if we can make room.

Q: What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?
A: Please let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP. We will work with our caterers to ensure there are options available for you. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions.

Getting there & staying

Q: What's the address of the hotel?
A:: Fairfield Mariott Barrie, 261 Essa Rd, Barrie ON L4N 9C7, Canada

Q: Will there be transportation between the hotel and venue?
A: There will be a shuttle bus from the hotel that will leave at 3:15pm. There will also be return trips to the hotel at 11pm and 12:30am.

Q: The hotel check-in time is 3pm but the shuttle leaves at 3:15pm. How can we get ready in time?
A: We spoke with the hotel about this and they said they should be able to check our guests in early (around 2pm), but they also requested that if you would like to check in early that you call them on the day of with the time you expect to arrive: +1 (705) 737-9999

Q: Is there parking at the venue?
A: Yes! Complimentary parking is available on-site at Ivy Ridge. Please don't drink and drive.

Gifts & Registry

Q: Where are you registered?
A: As we're currently living in a tiny apartment we have most of the housing items we can fit. Therefore, we have decided not to create a traditional registry. Should you wish to honour us with a gift, a contribution towards our honeymoon or future home projects would be sincerely appreciated.
